I love it when God “answers” so specifically as He did for you. You are on your path and doing what I love to read in Eph 2:10— “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (NIV)
You tell the story with such anticipation and excitement in your “voice.” I smiled all the way through to the end when you said, “all eating a Eucharistic Tomato sandwich,” which as a girl from Texas I grew up eating! Thank you for my Monday smile.
I love God’s timing and affirmation of your new home and church. Also, of the one scripture you would want to share without hesitation! This is a gift of Elizabeth’s sensitivity and your readiness and willingness to share God’s love for you and for each of us. 🙏🏻🦋 Can’t wait!
I love everything about this! All the beautiful God moments, the friendships, tomato sandwiches as a celebration! I love how God sends the most clear messages sometimes. And for you in your new home, a strong affirmation of place and time! What A Blessing!
I am also touched by your reference to the liturgy. Having grown up in the liturgical church, I have heard and read the scriptures almost every Sunday. That’s an abundance of scripture over my lifetime that is written on my soul! Many Sundays I have thought of how my brothers, sister, and other relatives and many church friends were hearing and pondering the very same words as they worshipped. I am so thankful for this connection.
Thank you for sharing this piece and your heart and soul.
Alice, so great to hear from you. I love your perspective here. Thank you for putting into words some of the benefits of the liturgical world! It took me a few decades to find it!!! Hope our paths can cross soon!
WOWOWOW! Burning bush moment for sure! In my latest email re Day Retreat at NessDoor, I explain a similar experience, albeit not as comprehensive, Sunday morn. Love this for you.Would love to hear the sermon as well.
Wow...Thank you for sharing this, Steve! It is so encouraging to hear stories like this, clear examples of God's loving and gracious pursuit of our hearts...I'm excited for you, friend.
