The New Year is already marked with change and nuance for me. Subtle change counts and small steps lead to larger shifts in us and around us.

I had my first pedicure and Gwen drank her first beer. At 70 years of age, both of us ventured into new experiences to mark our own new beginning. Since we both turned 70 this year, we are majoring on giving ourselves experiences that are life giving and not life draining.

I also have learned in my Enneagram type that my people who share my Enneagram number are the least aware of their bodies of all other types. My Enneagram is well aware of my heart and emotional well being but somehow my body care got left behind. More aware of our inner world than our body world, we learn somehow to ignore our bodies and take our own flesh and blood for granted.
